Winter Meltdown 2k26

Some wore two layers of clothing, and others wore short sleeves (I’ll let you guess which gender committed to that), but the weather truly did not keep RGBC Youth from having an awesome time at Winter Meltdown. They enjoyed dodgeball, horseback riding, archery tag, and board games.

We had an enthusiastic group of kids who may have risked frostbite to find special coins for a weekend-long competition, and one youth leader who smashed the very last game to win the overall competition. Go Team Inferno!

Kirsten, a junior, shared that a highlight for her was “snow tubing and the worship team.” Our kids who had gone before were delighted to have the same speaker, Nate, back from last year! Chase and Daniel, leaders, were thankful he was a “down-to-earth” type of guy—and kids can sense that! They enjoyed his jokes, Star Wars–related stories, and his ability to share our need for Christ through analogies that really clicked for them.

His messages set up small groups for intentional conversations and helped students recognize areas in their personal lives where Jesus was not reigning. Overall, we focused on being new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17).

A huge shoutout to our leaders who took the time to be with these incredible kids—listening and chatting about everything from random topics to deeply personal struggles—and who took the physical brunt of staying up way too late! These types of weekends set leaders up well to build trust and friendships with the youth as we seek to share God with them.

Thank you, church fam, for praying for all of us. Winter Meltdown 2026 was a hit!
