Our Values

Gospel Clarity

Salvation through Jesus Christ is the overarching theme of the Bible. As such we believe the gospel must be central to our message and identity. At Redeeming Grace, we believe, proclaim, and celebrate the good news that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We want this good news to be the center core of all we’re about.

Biblical Community

We believe the gospel not only gives us a new identity it places us in a new community. Biblical community is crucial to our walk as believers because we were made to be in relationship to each other. Redeeming Grace strives to be a community comprised of a diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, and social classes who live in deliberate care for one another.

Committed Disciples

Following Jesus requires us to grow to be more like him. We believe the gospel makes us a new creation and calls us to holiness. We want to be a place where growth in Jesus is regularly encouraged and cultivated. We want to be a community of believers that lives in worshipful obedience to God’s word, so that we bear much fruit and do good in the world.

God-Centered Worship

We understand worship to ultimately be about God. Worship has several healthy tensions we strive to cultivate. We believe worship is expressed both individually / corporately, that has both a vertical and horizontal dimension, that it involves both head and heart as it is informed by truth and encourages genuine affection for God. Our gathered worship will appreciate various liturgical elements and styles but will be biblically grounded, gospel shaped, and God centered. Yet, as we scatter, we understand worship to be a way of life impacting how we live out our lives each day.

Deliberate Simplicity

While valuing excellence RGBC strives to be simple in our ministry methodology. Instead of providing an ever-increasing number of programs we strive to put our best efforts toward fostering an ecosystem of church cultures in disciplines such as evangelism, discipling, hospitality, and fellowship that encourages ministry to develop organically with minimal programming.

Missional Living

We believe the church exists as an outpost of God’s kingdom in the world. As such, we want to equip and mobilize our members to have a gospel impact locally, regionally, and globally. The way we best love our neighbor is by telling them about God’s redeeming grace found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to position our lives in a way that makes the loveliness of Christ known to our neighbors and to the ends of the earth.

Merciful Compassion

While we want to speak the gospel clearly, we also want to show the grace of the gospel by loving others in practical ways. Compassion was a regular characteristic Jesus modeled and encouraged throughout his ministry. As such, we want to equip and mobilize our members to do good by being salt and light to a broken and hurting world.

Dependent Prayer

We put a high value on prayer. We recognize our church’s desperate need for God to guide, equip, and empower us to love Him, love others, and make disciples of Christ. Prayer is a means of humility and submission before God. It allows us to follow Him and is essential to carry out our ministry as a church.

Our Story

In 2009 Leonardtown Baptist Church followed a vision of wanting to reach St. Mary’s county with the gospel and established a new location in the southern part of St. Mary’s county.  In 2010 Leonardtown Baptist established its Callaway Campus which began meeting at the King’s Christian Academy.  The campus continued to grow steadily as a gospel-centered fellowship in the community.

Due to the growth and stability of the campus the members of LBC voted unanimously in early 2014 to plant the campus as an autonomous church.  As a result of much prayer and continued favor from the Lord the Callaway Campus was launched as Redeeming Grace Baptist Church on January 1, 2015.

In 2019 RGBC purchased 10 acres on Route 5 in Callaway and on January 1, 2023, moved into a 20,000 square foot newly constructed facility.  This has been an exciting step for our church to put down permanent roots in our community.   As we seek to remain faithful in the present we do so with eager hope for the future.
